Here it is, Wednesday, June 3rd, and it's windy, gray, rainy, and seems like Fall! How can it be now? I've decided (and committed my dinero) to the Denver Marathon on October 18, 2009. My first "official" start of training was at the Bolder Boulder on Memorial Day. Whoa! what a bad run that was...couldn't find my "groove". Nonetheless, I have been diligently following Jeff Galloway's training plan, "Just Want To Finish". Vern's going to try and volunteer at the marathon, we'll see. We have set up our above ground pool for the summer, but as Murphy's Law applies, it's been rather cold ever since set up day. Hilarious! Last weekend we also completed our planter's box alonng the front porch. We had some very large hedges, but Vern was tired of them and him and Mickey pulled them out. Dunes got a professional bath, "fur-minator" treatment, nail trim and ear clean...he's smells like a flower! We've been trying to plan out our weekends for the summer, but not going too well. Vern and I are taking a weekend at a hot springs location, just need to find the weekend. The end of this month, we'll be married three years. Pretty awesome, if I have to say so myself. We'd also like to get out to Phoenix to visit Amanda & Rob...Brian Jr. wants to go stay a week..again, having trouble managing the schedule. And along with all of that, Nic has gotten engaged to Andrea! Also, for the last couple of month's, my niece and her beautiful baby were in town. What a blessing! Raelynn is an adorable lil cuddle monkeyhead...just can't get enough of her. I must get out there and visit them in return. I'm still working Real Estate, but am enjoying the summer off from HBS. ok, Ta'ta' for now!

Only four more Mondays...
Yea, really, only four more Mondays and it's summer vacation! I feel like I'm back "in school" again...I watch the Seniors with their "senioritis" and remember, so keenly, when I was graduating from Widefield High School...I totally empathize with them. At that age, one is so sure of their maturity level, etc. WOW! Big surprises in store. So, since my last blog, we have been visitors to the Big Island...gorgeous! I so loved our vacation in Hawaii. We had so much fun: a day at Hapuna Beach, the heli ride over the volcanoes (saw some lava flow..), laying on the Black Sand Beach (rrgghh we're so irritated; we didn't realize how close we were to the Green Sand Beach!), dinner with friends on their coffee plantation, hiking Captain Cook's Trail, snorkeling, swimming with the dolphins (Brian Jr IS a dolphin!), the list goes on. It was absolutely golden and I would love to go back to the Big Island..so much more to do. Vern and I will try and do some yardwork this weekend. Not sure what's going on there, I think Dunes has done his damage. And I'm actually considering an attempt at the Denver Marathon in October. I"m looking at some training blogs and we'll just see.... I'll keep you updated ;-)

Time sure does fly!
Oh my goodness! The first thing one has to do after creating their "blog" site is make it a habit! I have posted ONE enty...just before Thanksgiving! Outrageous. Nonetheless, we have had a blessed holiday season. We spent Thanksgiving at home and were honored to enjoy the company of our neighbor, Ross and his little cutie-pie, Tanner. Ross' wife, Dawn, had to work (she's a nurse). We also had in our midst, my son, Nic, my sister, Dee, and her beautiful daughter, Jenni, and Jenni's beautiful baby girl, Raelynn. The week before Christmas, I met my daughter, Amanda, in New Orleans. We went to one of her girlfriends' college graduation and visited our previous home church in Slidell. It was such a blessing to see the Winborne's. Christmas was a quiet event with Vern, Brian Jr., Nic, and myself. While we were unwrapping gifts, the doorbell rang. To my great surprise, it was Amanda and Rob! Best gift that day! They stayed past New Year's Day, visiting their friends and such. The New Year kicked off quietly; Vern moved into his 54th year of life and Brian Jr. into his 14th. Vern wanted a french silk pie and Brian Jr got a cheesecake. February flew by with Valentines and here we are in March. The best part of March? We leave on the 14th for 8 days in Hawaii! woo hoo!
